In this lesson children will be introduced the 3 R’s, Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. They will be shown what it means to reduce materials, reuse materials and what items can be recycled. They are introduced to compost bins as a means to reuse food scraps, recycle bins as a means to reduce trash and send to special plants to reuse, and trash, but being mindful how how much waste is consumed. They will participate in an activity to review the 3 R’s.
