Directress, Justina Staley presents the children with information on different types of simple machines. Through lesson 1, they will be able to learn the difference between pulleys, levers, inclined planes, wheels and axles, screws and wedges. They will be able to build their own catapult which is a type of lever and see how a “simple machine” works. In lesson two, they will be able to distinguish between a screw and wedge. Children will be able to go on their own scavenger hunt through out their home and surroundings to see what types of wedges and screws they can find.
