In these lessons, children will be introduced to the continent of Europe. They will be guided through this story learning interesting facts about the continent. In a Montessori environment, continents are learned by identifying a color and through song. They will learn that Europe is the “red” continent and will be introduced to the continent song. In the first lesson, children will be introduced to some types of animals that are native to the continent. They’ll be able to create a booklet of animals to help retain and learn the names of the animals. In the second lesson, children will be introduced to beautiful pictures of what other children look like throughout the continent. They’ll be able to create some paper dolls and be able to dress them up to see the different type of clothing children wear. The aim is for children to learn that Europe is one of the seven continents of that make up our World.
